On November 22 to 24, KEK participated in Science Agora 2008, a symposium to
promote a network of science communicators in Japan. KEK staff taught
several tens of children to craft cloud chambers, to observe trails of
particles. KEK also hosted a talk show and an exhibit of accelerator
science.
The Science Agora - started in 2006 by the Japan Science and Technology
Agency - aims to make people get familiar with scientific and social
communications. Every year various personal and public groups make
presentations at the "agora" (plaza, or square). This year, over 6,000 people
enjoyed various kind of science communication events such as public
lectures, science cafes, and scientific demonstrations.
