"Young Distinguished Scientist" Awarded for Photon Factory Researchers
 
Dr. Kentaro Harada (Institute of Materials Structure Science, KEK) and Prof. Mizuki Tada (Institute for Molecular Science) won the Award for the Young Distinguished Scientist of the Japanese Society for Synchrotron Radiation Research (JSSRR).
 
Dr. Kentaro Harada  
Dr. Harada was awarded for his outstanding contribution to the "Proposal and demonstration for the new injection system using a pulsed quadrupole magnet".
  Dr. Mizuki Tada  
Prof. Tada, one of the active users of the Photon Factory, was awarded for her outstanding contribution to the "Innovation in the catalytic chemistry by using in-situ time-resolved XAFS technique".
 
The ceremony and lecture for the award was held on January 9, 2009, at the Koshiba Hall, the University of Tokyo.
