Nao Higano (Soprano)

Nao Higano originates from Chiba. She studied opera and concert singing at the Department of Vocal Music at the Seitoku Univ. She continued her studies as a scholarship holder at the Department of Singing at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Bratislava. She attended master classes led by Y. Hayashi, G. Benackova, S. Koptchak, P. Dvorsky, D. Iordachescu and P. de Napoli. Furthermore, she has increased her qualifications by her doctorate studies at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Bratislava in the class of Doc. P. Mikulas with her dissertation theses "Interpretation Problems of the Vocal and Opera Works by A. Schoenberg" and obtained the title "Artis Doctor". Nao Higano gives vocal concerts and performances in many countries; she has introduced herself successfully at many international musical festivals, and she records for musical broadcast and TV stations and for musical publishing. Nao Higano also devotes herself to oratorio, mass and cantata literature. She cooperates with several orchestras and chamber groups. She performed her song recitals in Prague Rudolfinum, Amsterdam Concertgebouw and in other prestigious halls. Nao Higano obtained first prize by the Yamaha Foundation and the Slovak Music Fund's awards for her concert activities. She was the permanent guest of the Opera Slovak National Theatre, one of her most significant roles was メWomanモ in Schoenberg's monodrama Erwartung. She has paid special attention to studying Slovak vocal compositions, focused on masterpieces of contemporary composers. She premiered their compositions in European countries as well as in Japan. Her rich repertoire stretches from Renaissance to 21st century music.

Zuzana Biscakova (Piano)

Zuzana Biscakova studied piano at Conservatory in Zilina, at Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Bratislava where she finished Doctoral studies. She continued postgraduate studies at Schola Cantorum in Paris in the class of E. Indjic. During her studies she participated at many competitions (Competition of F. Chopin, Smetana and Beethoven competition etc.). She was also an attendant of masterclasses (E. Indjic, M. Bilson, P. Jasmin, S. Perticarolli, P. Toperczer, M. Lapsansky etc.). In 1996 she won the 1st prize in the Competition of Slovak Conservatories and in 1997 the 2nd prize at the Festival of Contemporary Music in London whist the 1st prize wasn't awarded. In 2002 at the same Festival she was awarded for the best interpretation of Slovak composition. Zuzana has given solo concerts with Kosice Philharmony (G.Gershwin: Piano concerto F major), and in the Slovak Radio Orchestra (L. Grondhal: Concert for trombone, piano and orch., S. Reich - Eight lines for 2 pianos and orch.). She gives the concerts and records for Slovak Radio. She is also successful chamber player. Zuzana was awarded for the best piano accompanying at the International competition of brasswind instruments in Brno. She interpreted with masterpiece by G. Kurtag: The play, by O. Messiaen: Visions de l 'Amen for 2 pianos, by S. Reich: Eight lines (for 2 pianos and enssamble), and she recorded Quatour pour la fin du temps by O. Messiaen. Zuzana with Japanese soprano Nao Higano recorded already some recitals orientated especially in 20th century music (songs by Schoenberg, Messiaen, Bernstein, etc.). This concert tour is just the first visit in Japan for her.
