... and so forth.


With two pianos, the technique and the history of the piano tuning will be
explained with demonstrations using the equal/classical-tempered tunings.




Ryoichi TOTSUKA
  - Talk

Born in Tokyo, he had been in Germany for over 35 years working with music instruments. He has written several books including "Totsuka Piano Method", "Anyone can start playing piano with no difficulty" and so on which have been widely appreciated.    He has been giving lectures in universities on Comparative Study on Cultures, Sociology as well as giving lectures on a wide variety of subjects at many places.    His talks on Music Education, German Culture and Economy, Piano etc. are known to be enlightening and easy to understand for general public.


Masato KATO
  - Talk

After graduating from the Special Course for Piano Technician’s Training in Kunitachi College of Music in 1982, Masato Kato started his career as a Piano technician at Sunmuse. Co., Ltd. to tune pianos of Japanese major broadcasting companies such as TBS, Fuji Television Network and TV Asahi.    In 1989, he went on to study at German Piano meister school. While studying in Germany, he passed an exam for Klavierbaumeister (Piano making Master).    Since going back to Japan in 1993, he has been working at Euro Piano (Japan) Co., Ltd. and currently is a COO of the company.    He has been also a member and a counselor for International bureau of Japan Piano Tuners Association, and a member of Bund Deutscher Klavierbauer e.V. (German Piano Association).


Tadashi SUENAGA
  - Piano

Tadashi Suenaga studied at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, the Berlin University of the Arts, the University of Music Freiburg and the Mozarteum University Salzburg.    He won the second prize at the 5th Sakai International Piano Competition, and received a "Konzertexamen" degree in Germany in 2006. He has performed at concerts held in various countries, such as Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, China, and Egypt, and has also been participating in activities for "contribution to international society and cultural exchange by music" promoted by the Japan Foundation. He currently teaches at the Showa University of Music and the Showa College of Music, while performing as a pianist.    He studied under Kazuhiko Nakajima, D. Klaus, E. Andreas, H. Leygraf and G. Mishory.
