The concept of round colliding beams is briefly described, together with its application in the VEPP-2000 collider now under construction at BINP. Feasibility of round beam collisions at KEKB Factory is discussed.
The theory and experimental evidence of the coherent synchrobetatron modes in colliding beams system are given. A coherent instability resulting from the combined action of beam-beam force and machine impedance is described. Experimental observation of the synchrobetatron modes at KEKB is proposed |
