アブストラクト: In a first part, recent results using the SPEG-time-of-flight method for mass measurements are presented for very neutron-rich nuclei situated around neutron numbers N=20 and N=28. Seven masses have been measured for the first time, and the precision of 36 masses has been significantly improved. These results are used to investigate the evolution of the odd-even staggering of binding energies with neutron number. Especial attention is paid to the evolution of shell closure N=28 when approaching the neutron dripline. Changes in shell structure are observed around N=28 for P and S isotopes but not for Si isotopes. This could be interpreted as the persistence of shell closure N=28 or as the result of a very sudden change in deformation arising at N=28 for 42Si. In a second part, present developments of the active target MAYA will be shown, illustrated by the measurement of unbound states in nuclei beyond the dripline.
