The technique of QCD sum rules is well known for its ability to reproduce
various properties of hadrons. Using dispersion relations, this method
connects perturbative and non-perturbative sectors of QCD, and therefore
allows one to describe inherently non-perturbative objects such as hadrons
by the operator product expansion. In this talk, I will first discuss the
conventional analysis of QCD sum rules, using the example of the pentaquark
Theta^+(1540), which we have investigated until last year [1,2]. I will
here especially focus on the assumptions that have to be made on the spectral
function in this usual approach. I will then go on to intoduce our recently
developed method of using the Maximum Entropy Method (MEM) to analyze QCD
sum rules [3]. The main advantage of this appoach is that we do not need
to make any assumptions about the explicit form of the spectral function,
but can obtain its most probable form directly by using the MEM analysis. I will explain
about our first results concerning the rho-meson channel and also discuss further
possible applications of this method. |
