ABSTRACT: |
Control System Studio (CSS) is a collaborative development.
It started about 5 years ago and now includes participants from DESY, ORNL,
BNL, APS, ITER and more.
Its initial use at most sites it targeting EPICS, for which it provides new, portable, more integrated tools for general operator displays, alarm handling, data archive access.
In contrast to other EPICS tools, however, it was fundamentally designed to be extensible.
It can seamlessly include site-specific applications, and it offers interfaces to other control system architectures.
Based on Java and Eclipse technology, it is a key development in the EPICS community for a comprehensive control system application framework. |
