 square_cha Electronics Group/Electronics shop

square01_b The Electronics shop offers the following service

   a. KEEP : KEK Electronics Equipment Pool

We pool electronics modules such as CAMAC, NIM, TKO and VME as well as various types of power supplies and crates. These are for approved experiments and R&D projects in KEK, but could be used for related researches and tests if possible. You must obtain an approval from the head of division or PS experiment manager (Kikaku-Chosei-Shitu) if you want to take out these electronics from us. You can not exceed the period of use beyond March 31of the fiscal year. Should you need to keep the electronics beyond the march 31, you need to get an approval for the extension. Application forms are found on our web site.

For any questions, please contact our office in 2-go-kan building, room 202 on the 2nd floor. Some equipment for calibration can be used in our facility although not to be taken out.

   b. CRADLE : Circuit Research and Development

This is where new circuits are born. We develop circuits, modules, readout systems that is not commercially available. Since it takes time and lots of work to develop a circuit/system,
we would accept to work on it after a thorough discussion with experimentalists. After these are fully developed, we will make them commercially available so that researchers in this field can be benefited by these new circuits.

We welcome you for any discussions and advice concerning electronics.

   c. Research: FELectronics PARts stockroom

We operate electronics parts stockroom so that experimentalists are not only free from long delivery time but have the benefit of using quality parts tested by us. Users must have an authorized budget for them. You should have a valid KEK ID to withdraw any electronics parts from the stockroom. We are open Monday through Friday between 9:00 and12:00 and between 13:00 and 16:45. In case of emergency so that you need to withdraw parts outside of these stockroom hours, you may do so by filling up a form at the information center at the entrance. You will receive the stockroom key in exchange with your KEK ID. You must fill up the withdrawal form for whatever you will withdraw after you get the parts you need. Please make sure the door is locked when you leave. Upon returning the key, you will get your ID back from the information center. Please note that you should not withdraw a large quantity
of any parts for which we need to be consulted.

When we consider that the quantity you would like to withdraw is so large so that it would cause ill effect to other stockroom users, we may ask you to limit the quantity you would withdraw. We also have crimping tools, special cables and digital meters that can be signed out.
