X-ray scattering has become an indispensable tool for the development and research in thin films and nanostructures. Among all, in-situ X-ray scattering plays a significant role in such process, especially for study on epitaxial growth and lattice structures of surface layers. With its 2nd accelerator (Taiwan Photon Source, TPS) readily for construction next year, planning of X-ray scattering beamlines will be part of the NSRRC blue print. The “Workshop on Applications of X-ray Scattering on Epitaxial Growth and Nanostructures” scheduled on September 22nd, 2009 at the NSRRC will focus on gathering information of user expectation, technological emphasis, trends of industrial applications of the X-ray scattering facility. Through an engaging discussion, a much more defined and clear vision is expected to emerge for the consideration for future beamlines.
