Electrical power conservation

In principle, it is still forbidden to use lights, heaters or elevators at the Tsukuba campus, however, heat and elevators can be used if necessary for reason of poor health or the like. If this is the case, please inform the department head. Further, please be sure to turn off any heater upon leaving.
Power was restored to the Tsukuba campus generally today. The allowed power consumption limit is 4/3 of the current consumption level. (March 28, 16:00)

Restoration of electric power

On Monday, March 28, electrical power will be restored to all facilities on the Tsukuba campus. (March 24, 14:00)

10:00 - KEKB and PS areas (including all buildings around the research buildings)
13:00 - High Intensity Light Source area (PF-AR、KEKB control and surrounding buildings) as well as PF (including Linac).
- Restoration covers both low voltage and high voltage at all facilities and buildings.
- Prior to power restoration, to prevent risk of shorts, please turn off all breakers and switches. Because the restoration area is wide, each group is requested to carry out inspections before the end of this week.
- Please conserve power in the same way as in the office buildings. The use of lights, air conditioners and elevators is, in principle, forbidden. If their use is absolutely necessary for carrying out some task, please turn them off again immediately after the task is completed.
- Please request all laborers and contract workers to also conserve electricity as much as absolutely possible.
- The power consumption limit for the Tsukuba area is only twice the current usage level. If it is necessary to temporarily use more than 10 kW somewhere, please first contact the appropriate department head.
- Excess electrical power consumption may result in the need to turn off some equipment, and may even lead to forced blackouts.

Tsukuba Campus: Please return to regular working hours when electrical power is restored to your office.
However, as many facilities and pieces of equipment remain without electrical power, each group should determine the most effective way to work. Please make sure all necessary precautions have been taken to prevent fire or other accidents when electricity is restored. Following restoration, please conserve electricity to the utmost of your ability. (Excess power consumption can trigger unannounced, forced measures.)
Elevators are stopped for the time being.
In the event of a problem with facilities or equipment, unless it is an emergency, please contact each division head, or the Director of the Accelerator Laboratory (4138), rather than contacting the Facilities Division directly.

Postponement of Accelerator Laboratory seminars and meetings

The retirement commemorative event scheduled for 30 March have been postponed. An announcement on its rescheduling will be made once the new schedule has been decided. (March 23, 13:00)
