Multi Particle Tracking of a High Intensity Synchrotron (code SIMBAD)<\/td>\n\u4f50\u85e4\u3000\u7693\n<\/td>\nPIC tracking in a circular accelerators of many macro particles involves the solution of the Poisson-Ampere equation in the presence of the accelerator chamber walls. This is done in some existing computer codes. We present as this is accomplished in SIMBAD, a code designed for hadron synchrotrons and storage rings. We will discuss the approximations made and show results with applications to some existing accelerators, like the AGS at the BNL and the HESR at the GSI-Darmstadt.
\nIn particular, we will show how the analysis of the one turn matrix in the presence of space charge can be used to study betatron and synchrotron tune distribution and can help to understand better these existing accelerators and assist in the design and commissioning of new ones.
\nSIMBAD is a code designed to run on parallel computers, with a very large number of representative macro particles and many turns. Some of the aspects of parallelization will be discussed.\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nConsequently software engineering is a very important aspect of XAL development.
\nI will discuss various topics of this software engineering in general, and with specific regard to the XAL framework.
\nAlso, I will briefly outline the specific enhancements to the XAL online model made during my sabbatical time at J-PARC.
\nSome of this work included adding additional simulation capabilities to the online model, correcting existing ones, and verification.

The estimate of radio-activities induced in the soil shielding surrounding the decay volume is remarkably consistent with the measurements and certify the level below the design value. In the shielding design of the 50-GeV proton synchrotron of J-PARC, the MARS code has been extensively utilized. This code is the main tool in numerous energy deposition and radiation studies in accelerator, detector and shielding applications at Tevatron, LHC, neutrino factory and space. It is also applied to the design study of the future Linear Collider. Recently the calculation model of MARS15 has been substantially renewed. In this lecture, the new MARS15 code system will be discussed and new physics, tracking, histograming and I\/O features described to numerous code users at KEK. <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Total particle losses in the machine during the injection process at the scraper position should be less than 450W.For Main Ring of J-PARC the space charge effect in combination with the intrinsic field nonlinearities (first of all the sextupole nonlinearity, used for the linear chromaticity correction) could lead to significant particle losses. We study these effects by using the ORBIT-MPI code (SNS). In frame of this report we will discuss possible mechanisms of the particle losses in Main Ring during the injection process for the realistic machine parameters. Estimation of the particle losses for different stages of the commissioning scenario will be presented.\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

This talk presents numerical and analytical studies of transverse single-bunch effects induced by the electron cloud The strong head-tail instability threshold and the associated fast emittance growth are studied as a function of beam and cloud characteristics, with a special attention to the CERN LHC and SPS rings, and the results are compared with analytical models. A mechanism for the slow incoherent emittance growth, which is still present at cloud densities below the instability threshold, is proposed as one caused by the periodic crossing of resonances, as a combined effect of particles synchrotron motion and EC induced tune-shift variation along the bunch. Finally, preliminary simulations for KEKB LER are shown, trying to reproduce the observed vertical betatron sidebands.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n
