At the request of the Institute of Particle and Nuclear Studies, we built a boiling test apparatus (Fig. 1). A bottom plate (disk) is welded to the square tube, and flanges and observation windows were processed on the sides of the tube. It may seem simple at first glance because it's just connecting pipes with commercially available joints. If you don't think about how to assemble it, however, you may not be able to make it when you try to make it, or you won't be able to disassemble it after making it. For example, if you alternately assemble joints and pipes in order from the bottom to the top, you cannot insert the last joint at the top. Therefore, this problem is cleared by inserting joints called universal joints or rotary joints, etc. (Fig. 2 yellow arrow) on the top and bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, in order to match the vertical length of the U-shape with the position of the hole in the square tube, we devised a way to adjust the length by welding the pipe in the middle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
