To prevent the spread of COVID-19, a face shield is effective in protecting from the spread of droplets during face-to-face contact. Since commercial products were in short supply, the Mechanical Engineering Center of ARL created face shields using 3D printer. The shield parts are made of an OHP sheets used for lectures, etc. In the past, we used to make our presentation materials on these transparent sheets, but since we now use computer and projector, unused OHP sheets were provided by various departments within KEK. The face shields we created are used in offices and other places in KEK where there is a lot of face-to-face work. We were able to secure enough of face shields and donated 100 to Tsukuba city on June 26, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n
