Ms. Tran Kim Tuyet, a graduate student of the Radiation Science Center and the Graduate University for Advanced Studies, SOKENDAI, received the Incentive Award from the Nuclear Data Division of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan on September 16, 2021.
The awarded paper is \"Energy and angular distribution of photo-neutrons for 16.6 MeV polarized photon on medium-heavy targets\", written by Ms. Tran Kim Tuyet as a first author and published in Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research.
This paper is about neutron-production double-differential cross section measurements from single energy photons.
In this experiment, laser inverse a laser Compton scattering photon at the New SUBARU synchrotron facility was used as a monochromatic photon source, and the energy and angular distribution of neutrons produced when incident on a metal target were obtained by a time-of-flight method. The systematic experimental data obtained, the existence of a pre-equilibrium component in all targets measured, and the formulation of its angular dependence led to this award.
