The late Prof. Totsuka had long devoted his time as the director general to promoting the J-PARC project, which went into operation last April. Neutrino experiment, the field he had been actively engaged, has just started commissioning of the beamline, and has also seen the first successful generation of neutrino. It is truly regrettable that he could not witness all these.
Today we renew our pledge to ensure the implementation of the road map he had laid out for the promotion of various plans, such as J-PARC and SuperKEKB, to achieve world-class results. And we do so by unifying all our efforts and supports from the government and all relevant organizations from home and abroad.
Thank you very much for your kind attention.
Atsuto Suzuki, KEK Director General
