KEKB: BELLE Experiment Taking Data

The BELLE experiment took the data from Nov. 12 to Dec. 16 after the summer shutdown in the last year. During the operation in that period, the KEKB accelerator steadily improved the luminosity. The integrated luminosity was 280 since the beginning of the BELLE in Jun. 1999. The maximum luminosity in the fall period was about 18 per day.

The data analysis has been carried out and showed an accumulation of a large number of the B meson decay events. The data taking will be resumed on Jan. 14, 2000. The figure shows a typical event of the B meson decay process
