At the B-factroy in KEK, which is now in the final phaseof its commissioning (see previous article), conducted beam collision operation on June 1 afternoon and observed the first reaction due to the collision at 14:34. Not only Bhabha events (elastic reaction of electron and pasitron collision: the first indication of collision reaction in usual case) but also many multihadron events (where many elementary particles are produced from electron and positron annihilation) are observed soon after the collision started.
By this great achievement, the B-factory project is really started its operation as a "B-meson Factory" and going further to the final goal of the investigation of CP violation mystery.
