Intensity increase of electron and positron beams stored in the KEKB collider (Jan. 26)

[Japanese]

After the holiday shutdown from December 28th to January 7th, we resumed KEKB beam-tuning. After we restored the condition of the 8-GeV electron ring (HER) as was in December, we started operating the 3.5-GeV positron ring(LER). In the evening of January 13th, positron beam in LER started circulating. By next morning, positrons were successfully stored in LER. After tuning, intensity of the stored current reached 10 mA on January 17th, 46 mA on January 24th. Since January 22nd, we have been operating both HER and LER simultaneouly. Figure shows the current intensity of both positron and electron beams in the rings, which have been steadily increased.
