The committee member of EPP2010 visited KEK on July 18 and 19. EPP2010 aims to identify, articulate, and prioritize the scientific questions and opportunities that define elementary-particle physics, and to recommend a 15-year implementation plan with realistic, ordered priorities to realize these opportunities in the United States.
The members interviewed about KEK's future plans in particle physics, especially in ILC, Super-KEKB, Neutrino Experiment, J-PARC, and ACFA activities. Prof. Totsuka, Director General of KEK, and other leaders of the project joined the meeting.
EPP2010 was planed and has been sponsored by the National Academies of US, with the support from NSF and DOE since last July. Their final report is expected in the next summer.
