Barry Barish, Director of the Global Design Effort (GDE) of International Linear Collider (ILC), named Prof. Mitsuaki Nozaki as the new GDE Asian Regional Director. Nozaki will succeed the efforts of the former regional director Prof. Fumihiko Takasaki, as Takasaki is stepping down his role to become the Director of Institute of Particle and Nuclear Studies at KEK.
 
Prof. Nozaki has been working actively on BESS and BESS-Polar balloon experiment, to perform a sensitive search for cosmic antimatter, and on ATLAS experiment at LHC-CERN. He is also an agile member of ACFA, Asian Committee for Future Accelerator, devoting his efforts to strengthen the collaboration among Asian countries on accelerator sciences.
