On October 18 and 25, KEK held the 13th Open Lecture at University of
Tsukuba in Tsukuba Science City.
The lectures, given by four professors of KEK and University of Tsukuba,
refered to present status, issues and future plans in the various field of
accelerator science. The topics covers machine and beam studies of
accelerators, studies of uncovered particles for seeking the origin of the
mass using large colliders, materials studies and the application for
engineering and biological/medical field using particles and X-rays
generated by accelerators.
Students, 100 people on each day from public, listened the lectures with
their keen interests, and put many questions to the lecturers.
