The 42nd Joint Committee Meeting of U.S.-Japan Cooperation Program in High Energy Physics

 

On Wednesday, June 10, the 42nd Joint Committee meeting of Japan-US Science and Technology Cooperation Program (High Energy Physics) was held in the form of an online meeting. The meeting was originally scheduled to meet in person at KEK in April, but it was rescheduled due to the impact of the new coronavirus pandemic.

Dr.James Siegrist, Associate Director of Science for High Energy Physics, Department of Energy (DOE), Dr.Masanori Yamauchi, Director general of KEK and the other committee members from DOE, universities and laboratories met together to discuss the progress of their research cooperation between Japan and the United States and to adopt the 2020 joint research projects.

The committee decided to hold the next meeting in Hawaii in 2021 along with a mini symposium.
