Ubiquitin is a small molecule that covalently attaches to target proteins by
a 3-step enzymatic reaction. This covalent attachment of ubiquitin
(ubiquitination) is involved in various biological conditions such as DNA
repair, protein degradation, signal transduction, transcription activity and
so on. Not only ubiquitin, ubiquitin-like proteins are also known to play a
role. Recently, we found new ubiquitin interacting domains and a
ubiquitin-like domain (ULD) in different proteins related to NF-kappaB
signaling. Our new findings on ubiquitin binding domains and ULD in
regulation of signaling will be presented in the talk.
