The status of the muon detector and the initial level (Level 1) muon trigger of the DZero experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider is presented. Speaker makes also some comments on recent Dzero physics results. The DZero muon system provides efficient muon triggering and identification with extensive solid angle coverage.
The muon detectors consist of gaseous tracking detectors and scintillation counters. The Level 1 muon trigger logic makes use of tracks from the central fiber tracker and hits from muon detector elements. An overview of the detector and detailed explanations of the Level 1 muon trigger logic, related subdetectors and readout electronics is presented. Speaker would like to share an experience running the DZero experiment for the benefit of future detector operation in HEP. |
