アブストラクト: An intense muon beam is mandatory for the next-generation experiments, such as the COMET experiment aiming at searching for muon to electron conversions with an unprecedented sensitivity. It is proposed in the experiment to capture pions produced at the proton target in the high magnetic field generated by the superconducting coils surrounding the target in order to achieve the highest acceptance. Since the coils are exposed to the severe radiation from the target, radiation resistance of the magnet is a key issue. The irradiation effects on the magnet materials, especially the stabilizer, are being tested. Also the subsequent muon beamline consists of a series of superconducting magnets from end to end for muon transfer, background reduction and the spectrometry of the conversion electrons. A design work of the magnet system is underway taking the radiation issues into account. Details of the design and the R&D work on the magnet materials will be reported.
