アブストラクト: Cold-dense quark matter is a color superconductor with the condensation of BCS diquark pairs. In the interior of compact stars, the requirement of the $\beta$-equilibrium and the charge neutrality condition induces the mismatch between the Fermi surfaces of the pairing quarks. It is found that when the mismatch is smaller than the gap parameter, the ground state is in the gapless color superconducting phase. The gapless phase has unusual properties at zero as well as at finite temperatures. The most remarkable property of the gapless phase is its paramagnetic response to a weak chromomagnetic field, (unlike the diamagnetic response in the normal BCS superconducting phase). In more detail, for the five broken generators of the color symetry, their Meissner masses squared are negative, which indicates the chromomagnetic instability of the gapless phase.
