We will review the construction of N=4 supergravity theory in four dimensions. We will outline the procedure to gauge the theory to obtain a non-trivial scalar potential and show that the potential restricted to a set of scalar fields yield a minimum with positive cosmological constant. The stabilty analysis for the full set of scalar fileds will be discussed. The possible connection of this theory with String theory will be briefly mentioned.
