アブストラクト: The space-time extension of the matter generated in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions has been measured using two-particle correlation based on the method of Hanbury Brown and Twiss (HBT) intensity interferometry, originally developed in the radio astronomy to measure stellar radii. There is, however, a systematic deviation found in the theoretically calculated particle source shape comparing to the one measured in the RHIC experiment. To find a resolution, we have studied the effects of a final state interaction which has not been incorporated in the conventional HBT analyses with hydrodynamical simulations. Interactions taken place between emitted particle and the rest of the evaporating matter is described by one-body mean field interaction. We construct a model of dynamical mean field with a simplified description of the space-time distribution of the evaporating matter and using forward pi-pi scattering amplitude which incorporates constraints of underlying chiral symmetry and rho meson resonance. We discuss the origin of an attractive mean field interaction and the absorptive effect in the pion cloud surrounding the matter. We evaluate the modification of one-body amplitude of emitted pion adopting the semi-classical approximation, and examine how it is reflected on the distortion of apparent HBT images. The effects on the conventional Gaussian analysis of HBT images are also presented.
