アブストラクト: The Gross-Neveu models are well-studied models of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking in the large Nf limit, but surprisingly their correct temperature/density phase diagram has only recently been found. There are regions of temperature and chemical potential in which it is thermodynamically favorable for this interacting fermion system to form an inhomogeneous crystalline condensate rather than the usually-assumed uniform condensate. This is based on a new exact solution of the inhomogeneous gap equation. This exact solution is possible because of a deep integrability structure underlying these models, as the Ginzburg-Landau expansion is described by the mKdV and AKNS integrable hierarchies.
