ABSTRACT: We reported TBC (Tre2, Bub2 and Cdc16) domain containing, Rab
GTPase activating proteins (GAPs) as potential autophagy adaptor protein
(Popovic et al. , 2012). TBC1D5 contains two LIRs (LC3 interacting region).
The N-terminal LIR of TBC1D5 directly binds to VPS29. VPS29 is one of the
components of retromer complex that regulates the recycling of receptor
proteins from endosome to trans Golgi network. This N-terminal atypical LIR
and C-terminal LIR of TBC1D5 could bridge the trafficking events between
endosome and autophagosome.
