ABSTRACT: Research institutes and scientists need to relate and report their research results to the general public. In this regard, science communicators can be a vital link between science and the public. In January 2007 I accompanied Dr. Mamoru Mohri, an astronaut and Director of Miraikan, to Japan”Ēs Showa Station in Antarctica. My position and responsibilities were that of a Science Communicator. Our objective was to report to and interact with the general public concerning the Showa research.””It is hoped our experiences can help advance the techniques and applications of skills required to relate the latest in science and technology to the general public in an understandable manner.
