ABSTRACT: The LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN will be completed in 2007 and the pp collisions will begin at the center of energy of 14 TeV. The world-wide ATLAS Collaboration is completing the construction of the components for its ambitious detector for the LHC physics. The installation and the commissioning in the underground cavern has started. The ATLAS detector is on schedule to begin exploring the exciting LHC physics potential when the first collisions will occur in summer 2007. The status of the ATLAS project and its physics goals will be presented. The entire LHC status will be briefly presented together.
