ABSTRACT: The IceCube neutrino observatory includes an array of ice Cherenkov detectors on the surface above the sensors deployed deep in the ice at the South Pole. With its surface array, IceCube becomes a 3-dimensional air shower array as well as a neutrino telescope. It is sensitive to cosmic-ray nuclei with energies from 300 TeV to 1 EeV. I will describe the current status of the experiment and its potential for studying the transition from galactic to extra-galactic cosmic rays.
