ABSTRACT: The phenomenon of neutrino oscillation has been well established by the Super-K, K2K, MINOS, SNO and KAMLAND experiments. Although the theory of neutrino oscillation is well understood, several of the oscillation parameters are either not well measured or not known at all. In this talk, I will present the status of the proposed NuMI Off-Axis nu_e Appearance Experiment (NOvA) at Fermilab, and the proposed India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO). Both these experiments if approved are expected to be ready in early part of the next decade and will help measure theta_13, resolve the matter hierarchy, and test the theory of CP violation in the lepton sector.
