ABSTRACT: The particle-antiparticle oscillationsĦĦin the Bs meson system have long been considered a crucial measurement of the unitarity triangle of the Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix, providing a precise determination of the magnitude of its elements |Vtd/Vts|. We report a new measurement from the CDF experiment, running at the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider at Fermilab. The measurement establishes the phenomenon at a 99.5% confidence level. Assuming the data reflect a true effect, we determine the oscillation frequency Delta ms and |Vtd/Vts|.
