We examine within a model independent approach the various puzzles and evidences in B decays that have hinted towards the existence New Physics. The B_d-anti-B_d mixing phase measured using b->s qbar q modes differs from that measured in b-> c cbar s modes. We show that this deviation cannot be accommodated within the Standard Model unless the observed decays result from fine tuned cancellations between significantly larger quark level amplitudes. We also suggest ways to provide a resolution of the K pi puzzle without any hadronic model dependent assumptions. We finally summarize other clean unambiguous signals of New Physics in B decays, with emphasis on B-> VV decays. |
