ABSTRACT: The Balloon-born Experiment with a Superconducting Spectrometer (BESS), aiming to search for primodial antiparticles in the cosmic radiation, successfully carried out the second scientific flight over Antarctica in the solar minimum pediod, in December 2007 - January 2008. The spectrometer worked properly and recorded 4.6 billion cosmic ray events (Polar-I x 5) at float altitude. We will describe the BESS-Polar program and BESS-Polar instrument especially for the improvements made for BESS Polar-II, and report the overview of the flight and the detector performance.
