ABSTRACT: An extremely rare decay, the K+ meson turning into a pi+ meson, a neutrino, and anti-neutrino, has been studied with the high-intensity proton beam available at the AGS of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in the US. The E949 experiment measured the branching ratio in the pion momentum region 211 < P < 229 MeV/c above the K+ -> pi+pi0 peak. [Phys.Rev.Lett.93, 031801 (2004)]; details of the analysis were pulished this year as Phys.Rev.D77, 052003 (2008). The results of a search with E949 in 140 < P < 1991 MeV/c, below the K+ -> pi+pi0 peak, was obtained recently [arXiv:0808.2459]. The analysis, as well as the final results on the branching ratio from the E949 data combined with the data by the previous E787 experiment, is reported in this seminar.
