ABSTRACT: An excess of events above the expected background with
a local significance of 5.0 standard deviations,
at a mass of 125.3+-0.4(stat.)+-0.5(syst.) GeV
was reported by the CMS experiment in July this year.
The excess was most significant in the two decay
modes with best mass resolution, gammagamma and ZZ, and
is consistent, within uncertainties, with expectations
for a Standard Model Higgs boson. Updated measurements
of the new Higgs-like boson around 125 GeV, with increased
statistics, in proton-proton collisions at sqrt{s}=7 and 8 TeV in
the CMS experiment will be presented.
Current constraints and prospectives of more rigorous probe
of the properties of the new particle will be discussed.
