ABSTRACT: The Silicon Detector (SiD) concept is a compact, cost-constrained detector designed to
make precision measurements and be sensitive to a wide range of new phenomena.
The concept has been designed with the particle flow paradigm in mind and is one of
two validated detector concepts for the international linear collider (ILC). The talk will
review the physics requirements for detectors at the ILC, the baseline design of SiD and
expected performance of the detector as laid out in the Detector Baseline Document in the ILC TDR.
