ABSTRACT: Recently there has been renewed interest in non-Hermitian chiral random matrix models for the QCD Dirac operator at nonzero chemical potential. In these models explicit analytic results can be computed for the eigenvalue spectrum of the Dirac operator, and in a certain kinematic regime these results are universal, i.e. identical to those in real QCD. I will review the random matrix models and compare the analytical results to lattice QCD data.
