ABSTRACT: We derive structure functions for the quasielastic (QE) production of octet baryons in $ˇ´nu_{ˇ´tau}n$ and $ˇ´overline{ˇ´nu}_{ˇ´tau}p$ interactions and study the polarization of $ˇ´tau$ leptons produced in the $ˇ´Delta{Y}=0$ reactions. Possible impact of the charged second-class currents is investigated by adopting a simple phenomenological parametrization for the nonstandard scalar and tensor nucleon form factors. The polarization density matrix formalism is employed to include the final lepton mass and spin into the model by Rein and Sehgal for single pion neutrino production (RES). We investigate the effect of the $ˇ´tau$ lepton mass on the differential cross sections. The lepton polarization evaluated within the extended RS model is compared with the single resonance production model based upon the Rarita-Schwinger formalism with phenomenological transition form factors. arXiv references: hep-ph/0408107,hep-ph/0408106,hep-ph/0403110
