ABSTRACT: It is described how the Mellin-Barnes representation can be applied systematically to evaluate multiloop dimensionally regularized Feynman integrals over loop momenta. The primary goal of this representation is to replace a sum of two terms raised to some power by the product of these terms raised to some powers. Then one achieves the possibility to perform integrations in terms of gamma functions, at the cost of introducing extra Mellin integrations. The method is illustrated through numerous examples, starting from very simple ones. In particular, the evaluation of on-shell double boxes and similar results at the three-loop level are briefly reviewed. Quite recently, the evaluation, by means of the Mellin-Barnes representation, of some non-trivial four-point three-loop Feynman integrals turned out to be crucial in confirming some iteration hypothesis in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory.
