ABSTRACT: The Gribov theory of nuclear shadowing is reviewed and extended using Collins factorization theorem to calculate leading twist shadowing for parton densities. Connection between the space time picture of the leading twist scattering in the nucleus rest frame and in the fast frame is explained. It is also argued that the shadowing at the fixed target energies is dominated by the interaction with two nucleons and is likely to contain a significant higher twist contributions. Extensions of the theory for the calculation of the hard coherent diffractive processes off nuclei is also described.
