TITLE: Nuclear Interaction of Hadrons near Threshold
CONTACT: tsuda
SPEAKER: Brajesh K. Jain  (KEK/University of Mumbai)
LANGUAGE: English
ABSTRACT: Nuclear reactions producing hadrons near threshold seem to be promising means to study the details of the hadron-nucleus interaction. With this motivation, in recent years a large number of high accuracy data on light nuclei have been published on this subject. These data have been found to exhibit unusual behaviour near threshold. The talk will focus on eta producing reactions and will present a rigorous theoretical description for them. The talk will discuss the usefulness of this study to learn about the eta-nucleus interaction through final state interaction, mechanism for eta production and the possibility of the existance of eta-mesic nuclei.
