ABSTRACT: |
The Polyakov-loop extended Nambu and Jona-Lasinio model (PNJL) with n_f=2 flavours
can be used to assess QCD dynamics along the restauration of chiral symmetry
and the cross-over to the deconfined phase.
As lattice QCD calculations are still limited to the region of small quark
chemical potentials field theoretic models are a means to explore the regions
at larger chemical potentials and in the vicinity of the critical point.
At large chemical potentials PNJL models can be used to explore the properties of diquarks.
Also the regions of non-vanishing isovector chemical potentials can be studied.
Even though the phase structure is very sensitive to the choice of parameters
such as the quark masses and the implemented number of flavours, the PNJL model
is a valuable tool to explore the phases of QCD. |
