ABSTRACT: Supergravity/string models are candidates for a unified framework of gravity and the standard model of elementary particles. We show some phenomenological features of moduli stabilization in the four-dimensional effective supergravities, where a negative vacuum energy of nonperturbative moduli potential is canceled by the F-term in a supersymmetry-breaking hidden sector. We also discuss issues of sequestering the hidden sector in a five-dimensional orbifold model which is a simple but concrete framework for such a nonperturbative moduli stabilization.
