ABSTRACT: |
An operator may have real eigenvalues with unitary time evolution even if it is not hermitian. The condition is that the operator should be pseudo-hermitian and/or PT(parity and time-reversal) symmetric. After a brief review on this topic, a large class of pseudo-hermitian models with underlying supersymmetry will be introduced. Special cases of this class of pseudo-hermitian Hamiltonian include non-hermitian versions of several Jaynes-Cummings-type models. Exact eigenspectra and the metric in the Hilbert space that enables a consistent quantum theory will be discussed in some detail for these Jaynes-Cummings-type models. |
