TITLE: Cosmic-ray positron from a decaying dark matter
CONTACT: tsuda
SPEAKER: Dr. Chuan-Ren Chen  (IPMU, University of Tokyo)
ABSTRACT: The existence of dark matter has been established by numerous observations, although we have not known yet what dark matter is made of. Recently, PAMELA experiment published the results about cosmic-ray positrons, confirming the excess in positron fraction measured by some different experiments before. Interestingly, a decaying dark matter whose lifetime is much larger than the age our universe can successfully explain the positron anomaly. In this talk, I will talk about the scenario that a hidden U(1) gauge boson constitutes the dominant component of dark matter and the predicted cosmic-ray positrons from its decay.
